Mr. Lalande is the principal of Lalande Personal Injury & Disability Lawyers, based in downtown Hamilton with a second office in Burlington.
Matt comes from a family of trial lawyers and judges practising since 1973, and has spent more than 20 years representing injured people, never insurance companies. He deliberately limits his caseload each year and remains the principal lawyer on every file he accepts, with a practice focused on catastrophic injury, wrongful death claims, injured children, and denied long-term and short-term disability benefits. He is co-author of Disability Insurance Law in Canada, a text used by lawyers and judges across the country. He has been named to The Best Lawyers in Canada™ for Personal Injury Litigation every year since 2018. Above all, he is a former director of the Ontario Trial Lawyers Association and has written or spoken for more than 100 publications and organizations on personal injury and disability law.
