YOUR GO-TO LAWYER FOR CASES INVOLVING:
Adam Wagman is one of the experienced injury lawyers Toronto has recognized at the very top of the profession – a partner at Howie, Sacks & Henry LLP, former Managing Partner, former President of the Ontario Trial Lawyers Association, and the 2022 Best Lawyers® Personal Injury Litigation Lawyer of the Year in Toronto. For nearly three decades, Adam has devoted his practice to fighting, with compassion and tenacity, for accident victims and their families to secure the full compensation they deserve.
Admitted to the Ontario Bar: 1996
Adam’s practice centres on serious and catastrophic personal injury litigation – motor vehicle accidents, brain injury claims, spinal cord injuries, pedestrian and cycling accidents, slip and fall, long-term disability, and fatal accident claims. He approaches every file with the same standard: thorough preparation, a deep understanding of the medical evidence, and a proven willingness to take a case to trial when insurers refuse to offer fair compensation.
As an avid cyclist and runner himself, Adam brings a particular passion to cases involving pedestrians, cyclists, and motorcyclists – vulnerable road users whose injuries are often catastrophic and whose rights can be among the hardest to enforce. He has conducted many successful jury and judge-alone trials, arbitrations, and appeals to the Court of Appeal of Ontario, giving him the courtroom depth that distinguishes the very best injury litigators from those who merely settle files.
A National Leader in Personal Injury Law
Adam’s standing in the legal community is exceptional even among his already distinguished colleagues at HSH. Canadian Lawyer Magazine named him one of the 25 Most Influential Lawyers in Canada in 2017 – recognizing him as a Changemaker in the personal injury field. He served as President of the Ontario Trial Lawyers Association in 2016-2017, and received the OTLA Distinguished Service Award in 2024. The Law Society of Ontario has certified him as a Specialist in Civil Litigation, and he has been consistently recognized in both the Lexpert® and Best Lawyers® in Canada directories for his achievements in personal injury litigation.
Chair of Ontario’s Premier Motor Vehicle Law Summit
Since 2018, the Law Society of Ontario has invited Adam to chair its annual Motor Vehicle Litigation Summit – one of Ontario’s leading continuing legal education programs, educating more than 1,000 lawyers and legal professionals each year on the latest developments in motor vehicle law. This ongoing leadership role reflects the breadth of Adam’s expertise and the trust that Ontario’s legal profession places in his judgment and experience.
Adam has presented and co-chaired at countless legal conferences and associations throughout his career, including the OTLA Fall Conference, the OBA, the Canadian Society of Medical Evaluators, and the Medical-Legal Society of Toronto. He has contributed widely to legal publications and media commentary – including CBC News, Canadian Lawyer Magazine, Law Times, and the Toronto Star – making him one of the most publicly recognized voices in Ontario personal injury law.
