YOUR GO-TO LAWYER FOR CASES INVOLVING:
Howie, Sacks and Henry LLP
Toronto Personal Injury Lawyer
Meghan M. Hull Jacquin is a partner at Howie, Sacks & Henry LLP and a trusted North York personal injury lawyer and medical malpractice advocate whose career has been entirely devoted to one purpose: achieving the best possible outcome for clients and families whose lives have been permanently changed by injury, illness, or negligence. Caring, determined, and creative in her approach, Meghan goes the distance for every client she represents.
Called to the Ontario Bar: 2005
Meghan began her career on the defence side, representing insurance companies – an experience that gave her an early and thorough understanding of how insurers think and operate. She quickly realized that her passion lay in helping injured people, not shielding those who caused their harm. She joined Howie, Sacks & Henry in 2004 and has built a full and rewarding personal injury practice across some of the most complex and sensitive areas of the law.
Her practice encompasses motor vehicle accidents, nursing home negligence, slip and fall claims, long-term disability disputes, and medical malpractice. She has appeared before the Superior Court of Justice, the Divisional Court, the Court of Appeal of Ontario, the Financial Services Commission, the Licence Appeal Tribunal, and the Court of Queen’s Bench of New Brunswick – a breadth of court and tribunal experience that reflects both the complexity and geographic reach of her work.
A Unique Voice in Nursing Home Negligence and Institutional Abuse
Among Meghan’s most distinctive contributions to HSH’s practice is her work on nursing home negligence cases and institutional abuse claims. She acts for victims of the Essure permanent birth control device (Bayer) and is part of the legal team advancing claims on behalf of survivors of the Gymnastics Canada and provincial gymnastics associations’ physical, sexual and psychological abuse lawsuit – a high-profile national case representing athletes harmed within a trusted sporting institution.
Meghan is an Executive Member of the Board of Directors of the Ontario Trial Lawyers Association (OTLA) and frequently writes for and speaks at the events and conferences of OTLA, the Canadian Bar Association, the Advocates’ Society, the Ontario Bar Association, and others. She also volunteers as a mentor with the Women’s Law Association of Ontario, and is actively involved in fundraising for Shelter Movers, a national charity supporting survivors of domestic violence. She has volunteered with the Canadian Brain Injury Association and the Brain Injury Society of Toronto.
