Michael J. Michael’s practice is focused on personal injury litigation with a particular emphasis on motor vehicle accidents, car and truck collisions, bus accidents, accident benefits, insurance disputes, and long-term disability claims. He also handles a broad range of additional personal injury matters including motorcycle accidents, boating accidents, recreation and sports injury claims, and slip and fall cases. His practice spans the full scope of plaintiff-side advocacy – from negotiating with insurers to advancing cases through trial and arbitration.

He has appeared as counsel across a wide range of proceedings, including trials before the Ontario courts, arbitrations, and motions involving some of Ontario’s largest insurance companies. Cases have included major motor vehicle accident claims, slip and fall matters on municipal property, insurance coverage disputes, and recreation and sports injury litigation.

A Charitable Leader in the Personal Injury Community

Michael’s commitment to injury victims extends well beyond the courtroom. He is the founder of the ‘Personal Injury Bar Charity Hockey Challenge,’ an annual event that has raised more than $500,000 for the Canadian Spinal Research Organization’s (CSRO) ‘Shoot for a Cure’ campaign – funding vital research into the prevention and treatment of spinal cord injuries. He remains an active Board Member of the Canadian Spinal Cord Research Organization and has served as a trustee for the Brain Injury Association of Toronto, the Peel Halton Brain Injury Association, and the Toronto Lawyers Association.
