Sonya has appeared at every level of court in Ontario, from bail hearings to the Court of Appeal, on cases ranging from murder and sexual assault to impaired driving and fraud. She serves as Duty Counsel in the Court of Appeal for Ontario’s Pro Bono Inmate Appeals Program, teaches Trial Advocacy at Osgoode Hall Law School, and has judged the Jessup International Law Moot Court Competition around the world. Above all, she has been named to The Best Lawyers in Canada™ for Criminal Defence in 2024 and 2025, and won NOW Magazine’s Readers’ Choice Award for Best Toronto Lawyers in 2018.
