A Brief Financial Update: * The Canadian dollar will continue to flounder until a viable Covid vaccine is found. * This is still a great time to renew or get a mortgage. The Bank of Canada will hold it’s cheap money course. * Canadian Mortgage and Housing Corporation has taken steps to tighten mtg insurance eligibility requirements. * Lines of credit (for those with lots of money) will remain inexpensive. For the rest expect bank % increases or the lowering of credit limits. * Inflation is now a serious issue. * Expect downtown condo and commercial property values to decrease as bars and restaurants close and people realize going to an office is “old school”. * The stock market will remain the most volatile place to “invest” money. The ”coronavirus” has wrecked havoc with world stock prices. * Personal Injury Structured Settlements will remain the safest and most secure investment for our disabled clients. Spinal Cord injury Ontario – SAFE@HOME Connecting in a Crisis

Most health care workers and personal injury lawyers, know of the good work Spinal Cord Injury Ontario has done over the years. Formally known as the Canadian Paraplegic Association, it has operated out of Lyndhurst Hospital since the end of World War 2. Many of our mutual clients were one time patrons of the hospital and remain SCIO members. I am proud to say, I have been helping those with spinal cord injuries since 1980. I made some great friends who were kind enough to let me work on their cases. Having said that, it is true of most of us in the personal injury field – it doesn’t matter what side of the bar we are on, SCIO has been an invaluable resource to help our mutual clients/friends. Well, our friends need us! Those with spinal cord injuries are at high-risk to get COVID-19. This is because of the need for face-to-face care, whether acute, rehab, or in the home. Why is JUUL Facing So Many Lawsuits?

  JUUL Vape Lawsuit Canada – JUUL, the popular e-cigarette manufacturer that controls roughly 75 per cent of the Canadian market, has experienced significant public backlash over the past several months. Vaping – the practice of inhaling and exhaling aerosol produced by a device, often an e-cigarette, that heats e-liquid until it vaporizes – has been legal in Canada for years, but its popularity, particularly among young people, exploded following JUUL’s emergence. Since then, JUUL has become an avatar for everything – real or perceived – that is wrong with the vaping and e-cigarette industries: the health problems, the addiction, the deceptive marketing, and the targeting of teens and non-smokers. Outrage over several of these issues became so strong that it provoked a series of aggressive lawsuits. The US states of California, New York, North Carolina, and the District of Columbia have sued Juul Labs, the manufacturer of JUUL, for ‘viral marketing [that] contributed to the surge in underage vaping by teens in the district and across the U.S.,’ per CNBC.
